About me
Alice Hu Zhongyue is a passionate young classical guitarist with a deep love for arranging intricate music pieces for her instrument. Born and raised in Reggio Emilia, Italy, she grew a unique way of interpreting music by putting together asian and european heritage, both her artistic rooths.
Over the years, she has been honored with awards and scholarships. She is a prize winner in competitions like: "France Music Competition" 5th edition 2023 , "Aldo Finzi" International Competition 2023, "Euterpe Music awards" 2023, "Premio Giuseppe Alberghini" 6th edition 2024. In 2022-2023 she was the winner of "LUC Libera Università del Crostolo" Scholarship.
Alice completed a Bachelor's degree at the age of 19 at "Peri-Merulo" Reggio Emilia's conservatory, where she had the privilege of studying with Francesco Moccia. She completed her first Master's degree in the same conservatory and she's now attending Maastricht's Conservatorium for her second Master's degree under the guidance of Carlo Marchione. To perfect her technique in solo performance and chamber music, she attended the courses at the prestigious Chigiana Academy studying with musician such as Eliot Fisk, David Krakauer and Kathleen Tagg. She also attended several masterclasses with Italian guitarist like Flavio Cucchi and Francesco Biraghi.
With diverse chamber music experience, she has played in Italian music festivals: Onde Musicali, Caffè del Giovedì, Primavere Musicali. Besides her main ensemble being Trio Vinaigrette, she works in two duos with the flutist Margherita Russo and the cellist Federica Di Gioia, bringing a fresh and unique voice to each collaboration.
